Yes, that is the location.  The thread is the same in in either direction. 
I just did not catch it until after the engine was installed.

Is this the oil cooler line fitting at the back of the block just to the
left and above the distributor?


I'm confused that you say the fitting is in backwards. Not sure how this
could happen.

Need more input.
