I feel that there is room for another list, not instead of the old list, but in addition. I know that you don't agree, and I am sorry to feel compelled to do it anyway. You are welcome to join if you wish. I'd love a reason to discontinue it, but that won't happen.

I'm not posting the list info to the main list, cause I don't want to just yet. I want to get it going with a dozen or so members and work out the ground rules.

MIG has evolved into a non- Marauder/Intruder mail chat list. I don't really read much anymore, since it is mostly BS. There are only a few of us who do it the old way. Craig never liked the hard edge, and I've grown weary of it. It has evolved as it should, on it's own. It has a life of it's own and I am not interested in changing it. Allan, Kev, Don, Rich, et al are the active posters, and they have their own idea of what MIG mail is. I say let them!

Don't we have a right to our own list? I'm not unsubscribing from the old list!

It takes more than just one person, Jim. I agree you've more than done your part, but we all need to keep it up. I just think that separation of any kind will be a major blow to an already weak "coalition". Probably very counterproductive. I've already noticed the tone on the list changing for the better. Let's see if we can nurture that rather than slapping it silly.

SOunds good, but I've been trying that for years. I don't curse, I posted ride reports everytime I fired the bike up. I have tried to answer most requests.

I communicated my idea of what mig should be.

What did I miss? The noise drowned me out.

What I really think we need is more participation of the kind we desire to see on the list to drown out the "noise". If we all do our parts to raise the level of discussion on the list, I think we'll see some positive improvement.

TBH, Jim, this is gonna cause hackles to shoot skyward
everywhere. But you already knew that going in.

And frankly, you are right. I threw a kite up there about the spun
bearing in my crankshaft and got the response of "Buy a new bike."

Real helpful.

P.S. I'll be shooting a prototype of WebApp on my server up online

Here in NJ in March, warm is anything over 40, so I was READY for a good ride, to be sure. PMS, Parked Motorcycle Syndrome has had a hold on me, though I have had a fix a few times this winter…

It was 55 when I went out to the garage, the warmest morning yet this year. I wheeled old Bessy out of the garage and gave her a fast spray bottle wash. (For those who don’t know, Bessy is a 98 rauder named after the girl friend (not wife) of the singer of Cripple Creek, by the Band). Well, with her blue flame paint job looking good and the chrome removed of it's dust.

Bessy fired right up to my astonishment, she hasn't been run in at least a month. She was READY to run!

I filled her up and checked the air, 15 psi low. I THOUGHT her ass was wiggling on the way to the gas station! Well, she was the same old agile young athelete leaving. We rode in harmony, the cool morning air stopped for the most part by a leather bandana around my neck. It is sweet.

Bessy was running fine, I was getting back into the particular harmony of her rythym and the back roads began to unfold. Now I have been known to be pretty good at getting lost, but this day was special. I headed West 20 miles and then headed NW, just because I hadn't gotten lost up that way in a while.

Well, it was not as easy as I'd have prefered to enjoy the ride for some time due to the disease called subdivision. Some folks call them a "development". Well, most are pretty disgusting developments simply because they completely level the entire area before they start. At least in my neighborhood when they built 50 years ago, they left many of the old tree alive. We call it charactor.

But even that could not ruin this morning, and as if it had only been a test, the roads got smaller, older and windier. "Always take the poorest look road" is my motto. And I found some sweet ones too! I recall on one ocassion winding my way through some woods and smelling something very familiar. As O made the last turn, sure enough, I ridden right into a horse farm area. Mom and Pop types, 3 in a row. Beautiful horses and folks working 'em.

Well, I rode 3 and a half hours and covered just 135 miles. After northwest-ing as far as I wanted, I headed south. I love those little roads. I turned around at a previously unknown Suzuki dealer in Maple Shade, bought chain wax and lubed her chain, and Bessy and I headed home.

Did I mention how sweet it was?

Ahem,
the way I look at it, we settle anything between the older members
of this list and we should have no problems.

For lack of a better name, we call it the core group.
But what to name The List? MIG Tech and Ride List?
Ideas appreciated.

Democracy of the few, just like the good old USA started! And we elect new core group members from this group, OK?

I know we don't have everyone we need on the core group here yet. We need to add a lot of folks.

Please all chime in, if only so we all know who is on. I don't have access to the membership list yet.

Thanks for the invite. Is this the place for the political debates and posts? :-) Couldn't resist.  I'm about as apolitical as one can get. Am writing with baited breath for the posts to start.

Well said. Thats really why any of us are here, after all.

I know I'll be experiencing much of what you are, the doc told me so, because of my accident. If I just keep at it, I'll have a more active life.

I'd look into what modern medicine has to offer, who knows what they may come up with. I assume you have the pain in the shoulder or arm, I had that long ago, but had 2 discs replaced. No, it ain't fun.

If I were you, I'd trailer to Aville, but I understand your urge to ride. I've got the itch for an extended ride myself, but my poor long suffering family is gonna be pretty unhappy if I do it. They worry.

We need a timer on turn signals. After 30 seconds, they turn off. Maybe a minute. I've been that damn fool with them left on a few times myself.

Well, The family and I are finally on a real vacation next week. We leave Sunday for 7 days in Tortola, BVI. It is nice there, not a paradise people think, but low key, mellow and relaxed. The British Virgin Islands don't have the crowds, commericalness, highrises and urgency of the American Virgin Islands.

I'll think about you guys!

I know you were hoping to tour central FLA. And am sorry my schedule that week was so full. I do really wanna try the BMW one day too.Never rode one(aside from the one you had in Asheville).
