Please delete this if you don't want to hear my stuff, it is a rant.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
I was reflecting on all this, and came across Bill's early email.

I think the really important things we have learned are:

1. The press reports stuff without confirming the facts.
2. Our federal government is reactive, and will never be ready for something
unpresadented.
3. Lousiana has a really screwed up government.
4. The people down there really were not as bad as we were led to believe.

I don't know if you all noticed, but the press quietly corrected themselves.
There were NO murders in the superdome or conference center. In fact a total
of just 10 people dies combined in both. And the number of murders for the
week were the same as "normal", 4.

But the way the media blamed everything on the president, when thet had few
facts, shows the pathetic way the press's honesty really is lost.

Not only that, but their sense of responsibility to the citizens. Their BS
was so bad it hurt the entire country.
