Trip?

Gee ,what was the last one?

I guess it was to LA to my uncle's service and then to San Leandro to do 3
seminars and see old CJ.

Jimmy and I had a good time and Curtis spent a lot of time with us, showing
us San Fran, including that weird street that is serious s turns down a
hill.

Oh, whoops, the latest trip wasn't business, it was the RV trip with family!
We had a good one, off the Martinsburg WVA to visit family, then down to Va
to Shenadoah Caverns, off to Cass WVA and old railroad operation, which is
something. Special steep track locomotives made by Shay, then home again via
Gettysburg.

WVA is a beautiful area, but unbelievably hilly. We saw a few flat spots,
but not many...

I once heard a joke that if you ironed it out, it would be bigger than
Alaska. There may be some truth in that.

The Winnebago is a smooth ride. Mileage dropped to about 8.5 mpg in the
mountains, and what a great bike ride that would be! In an RV, it was
downright freightening at times. Picture this, 151 in an RV.... OK, it
wasn't quite as tight, but it was much steeper...

The kids were OK, but they got bored, as to be expected. They did a lot of
sleeping, which is why an RV is better than a car.

We saw VERY little traffic on the highways, the least I have ever seen on a
holiday weekend. Gas ranged from 2.99 to 3.49 a gallon, but the RV runs on
diesel, and has a long range, so we paid just 2.89 on leaving, 2.89 once on
the road and then 2.69 the last time. I love Flying J travel plazas. Free
overnight parking, free waste tank unloading, and the cheapest diesel
anywhere.

'nuff siad!
