Howdy Folks,

Earlier this week the brother of my next door neighbor came over to ask if I
could help start a car in their garage. The car turned out to be a 1974
(might be a 72 but I didn't check the VIN to verify) Jensen-Healey that one
of their other siblings (now in South Dakota) bought years ago with a
salvage title and fixed up. The family is looking to get rid of the car to
get their garage back and I'm looking to not get killed by my girlfriend for
coming home with another automotive stray. Anybody interested? You can find

We weren't able to start the car because while it did turn over the electric
fuel pump mounted in the trunk was not functioning. Title says "Salvaged"
but we have no info on why. Trunk and interior floor pan were covered in a
Rhino-liner type material by the current owner and there are two sets of
wheels as well as a hard top which apparently doesn't fit too well. The
paint under the dust looks smooth and bright and the underbody looked clean
as well and was apparently all done since purchase in 2002 (I think...I
didn't write all the dates down). The odometer says 87K as does the title.
While researching the car I was surprised at the low production numbers-3356
MKI's and 7142 MKII's if wikipedia is to be trusted.

I don't believe my neighbors have a price in mind and in the interest of
neighborly relations (and love of classics) I told them I'd help them peddle
the car around. Shoot me an email if you'd like more info. Funny, when I
moved in 3 years ago I thought I was the coolest kid on the block with 2
classic Minis and a Series III Land Rover. Then I discover that my neighbor
across the street has a Fiat 124 Spider in his garage, a gentleman I met on
last year's Snowball lives a block away with several old Mercs and a
Porsche, and now my next door neighbor with this J-H. We're everywhere!!!!
Muhahahahaha!
