Interesting. Like I said, if it has British blood, it's British. But BP
gas, and oil does not make a British car, OK?

Well, except that Super 7 is a Caterham factory-authorized manufacturer,
and Caterham is a UK company, so if a Mexican VW isn't Mexican, why is a
Super 7 from Canada a Canadian car?

Original Minis were made under license in Japan, New Zealand, Australia,
etc., but would we not consider them bona fide versions? BTW, many Mini
lovers really prefer the Australian and Japanese Minis, for their subtle
but useful refinements over the UK-made cars. We had a member some years
back with a gorgeous Australian Mini - he moved away, but I wonder if
he's moved back to California? We need to get him on some club drives,
if so.

I have several wonderful books on post-war British sports and family car
production. It blows my mind seeing how many cool, interesting,
sometimes dorky, but inventive cars came from the efforts of that little
island. A history of truly amazing accomplishments, and that isn't even
considering the race car heritage that has flowed to today's race and
production cars.

Not in my book. I'd love a 3.0CSI, a 635CSI, a 1972-1973 2002...
However, not all dyed-in-the-wool classic Brit car lovers are open
minded towards Bimmers or Porsches (nor they of us, often times).

Cheers,
Greg
