A couple of people emailed me who missed the original invitation (below).

Bring a friend, and see you there!

Here's the plan for next weekend. John "Voice of Reason" Kenner pointed out
that Saturday Feb 15 has a 90% chance of rain, and suggested we move the
ride to Sunday Feb 16. Currently predicted high is 68 degrees with a 0%
chance of rain. So please note the date change. Here's the route and plan.

Meet at my place at 10 am for coffee and fresh baked croissants. 1490 Mark
West Springs Rd, Santa Rosa, CA 95404. Phone 707 217 9927. That's
Christine's cell phone (mine is used principally as a paperweight). Look
for the driveway between the yellow mailbox and the sign saying Michelle
Way. Note the subtle hint of a giant Union Jack flying outside the redwood
fence. Bring a camera and sandwich.

Park in a circle with bonnets facing in. After time to gawp and chinwag,
leave around 10:45.

Drive up Dry Creek Valley. This is a famed viticultural appellation. They
prefer you call it that, rather than a "plonk zone." Here's the link to the
Dry Creek Wineries association: http://www.wdcv.com/

We'll get there via the usual tortuous, devious, counterintuitive, and
circuitous back routes favored by the NOBBC as well as the long-dead
British engineers who designed the electrical systems of the cars we drive.

So River Rd West then North on Wohler Rd (a Right opposite the Farmhouse
Inn). Left at the Raford Inn and across the Wohler Bridge. Then Right on
Westside Rd which takes us to Healdsburg. At a stop sign just before the
101 underpass, Left on West Dry Creek Rd. North on this road, terrifying
the foolhardy cyclists in our path. Right on Yoakim Bridge Rd, Left on Dry
Creek Rd to Ferrari Carano winery.

The grounds are magnificent, and the wine isn't bad either:
http://www.ferrari-carano.com. The rumors that the winery and companion Las
Vegas casino were set up to launder Mafia money are Definitely Not True.

We'll stop there for a walk through their gorgeous gardens and ponds (gate
on the right of the path leading to the chateau), and optional wine
tasting. Bring a camera. Did I say that already? Make sure you see the
Ferrari Carano cellar. Food is available for purchase there.

Then we'll drive South down Dry Creek Rd and take a Left on Canyon Rd, then
take 101 to Shiloh Rd going East. Right on Old Redwood Highway, Right on
Fulton Rd. Just after we cross 101, look for the driveway to the
Kendall-Jackson Wine Center. We'll check out their Sensory Garden, and
enjoy our sandwiches in their gazebo. After more gawp and chinwag, we'll
disperse peacefully.

Please bring your spouses, significant others, children, insignificant
others, and friends! This is a time to share our hobby with others, and
infect them with our disease.

See you next weekend!

Dawson
