The closer you get to '73 the worse your mileage will be. I think '73 was an all time low at about 7mpg. GM was so concerned with meeting the EPA regs that they strangled the engine. I bought a SWB stepside new in '73 and it used 7 mpg like it was on a timer. Didn't seem to matter if I was driving around town, on the highway, or in the mountains.

My 77 blazer with 350 got 8 mpg, but It weighed 6000 lbs. My guess would be
you'll get in the 10-12 range if the motor's not too worn. Compared to my
blazer, you could say you're going green!

Subject: [Oletrucks] 84 Silverado

Does a 1984 Silverado count as an ole truck? I am looking for a used truck
and found a 1984 Silverado with a 350. I was wondering if anyone on the list
owns one or ever owned one and can tell me how it was on gas. It has two gas
tanks and it is a full size truck with a 350 engine. I need it to pull my
boat and I assume it doesn't get excellent mileage, but I'm hoping it isn't
terrible. I will mostly drive this truck to pull my boat to the river and to
drive while I work on my S-10.

I am still working on my 55 Chevy truck but
it is still a long way away from
driving, much less pulling a boat.

Did
anyone make it to the Run To The Sun show at Myrtle Beach this weekend?
It is
put on my by the Pee Dee Street Rodders every year and this year,
there were
2449 cars and trucks registered and the weather was great.

Thanks for any
help and I apologize if this is off topic for the list.
