[Oletrucks] 54 starter

Hi All, 
I just dropped in a 350 create motor into my 55 series 2 and would like to
keep my original ignition switch and foot starter. Has any one done this
if so what do I need to do? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

 The Motor came with a starter that was to long for my front clip so I had
to swap it out for a short version starter.
 Do I need to modify the starter to make it work or is there another way
to accomplish this?

One disadvantage of the stomp starter is that some kid playing in the
truck
could press it and cause the truck to move.  Won't start without the key,
but
it will turn over and move if it is in gear.

Well, you can't use a remote starter switch when working under the hood,
and,
if you don't have a good working hand brake or park gear, you have to do
some
fancy foot work to get a left foot on the brake so the right foot can
press
the starter, for two advantages to the solenoid switch. It's not enough
for me
to swap it out, I like to go with originality,  but just sayin....

i agree.  i have a 1955 1st series Panel truck, 6 volt with floor pedal
started. I dont see the disadvantage of the floor board pedal starter.
