Gas gauge was working fine until about three days age. ??Noticed as I started the truck, gauge was not working. Tapped the gauge cluster and the gas gauge started working. Then yesterday, same thing, only this time, after tapping the cluster. the gauge never started working. It's stuck in the empty position. I've removed the sending unit wire, with ignition on and there's no movement. ?????? Also touched it to ground same result. Checked grounding at the sending unit and all is good. I do not get any power indication at the sending unit Another other suggestions to check??? Hate to think it's the gauge, removing the cluster is a cluster . . . If the gauge is bad, has anyone connected an after market (externally mounted) gas gauge? How'd that work out ?
