 I transport mine on the floor, behind the front seats.  I can drop it in
behind the passenger seat and slide the seat rearward until it compresses
the cylinder against the second row of seats.  I then drop the seat back to
lock it in.  Combined with a cover on the valve, it's a pretty safe place to
transport a cylinder.  You don't want it to be able to move around, or get
hit, if you are in an accident.
