Yes indeed.  Absolutely essential to have at least 1/8 of the total trailer
weight on the tongue/hitch.

Also make sure your tie-downs are up to snuff.  Normally they don't do much,
but in an emergency they may wind up taking the full weight of the car.
Just at the worst possible moment for them to snap.
