[Shop-talk] Pole building roof insulation repair

My shop is a pole building with insulation in the roof as seen in the
picture in link below. I had to cut away a couple sections of this
insulation last year to repair holes in the roof caused by falling branches.
I need to replace a couple of short sections of this insulation and figure
out how to tape it together with the existing insulation.

 

What is this type of insulation called??

 

What type of tape is used to tape this type of insulation?
