[Shop-talk] Garage Door Sensor Challenge

There seem to be some different ways to approach 
this in industrial settings.  I thought this one had potential:

The beam is attached to the door instead of the 
wall.  The problem with all of these more 
industrial approaches is the industrial 
price.  There are also some door edge rubber edge 
pieces that have built in sensors.  Here is a 
article about the subject.  Interesting, but I 
still didn't see any obvious solution for a reasonable cost.
