[Shop-talk] Cordless drill/screw driver

Another DeWalt fan here. I'm sure the Milwaukees are just fine, but I bought into the platform. For regular around the house stuff Ryobi is surprisingly good, but they may not be at Menard's. 

As for the 12v vs 18/20v stuff (I've read the 20v is really an 18v with extra marketing power), I had a 12v Black & Decker drill a long time ago, and liked it so much I replaced the batteries, and then the motor. Eventually the housing cracked and I moved to the 20v DeWalt. If I were just buying for general household, I'd choose a modern 18v Ryobi over a 12v.
