My take is this: in the garage I'm gonna saturate the zone with light. 
It's gonna be multiple utility lights if I can manage it.  The battery 
LED stuff is good enough now that I rarely unroll a cord.

It'd never occurred to me until this discussion that I ought to have at 
least a headlight in my travel tool kit.
