And a third for the Braun light.
They sell two versions … just the light ... https://www.harborfreight.com/390-lumen-magnetic-slim-bar-folding-work-light-56329.html <https://www.harborfreight.com/390-lumen-magnetic-slim-bar-folding-work-light-56329.html> … and a kit with several different LED heads … https://www.harborfreight.com/421-lumen-3-in-1-quick-connect-light-kit-56200.html <https://www.harborfreight.com/421-lumen-3-in-1-quick-connect-light-kit-56200.html>. The ‘just the light’ is currently on sale (at least for Inside Track members) for $22.
The great thing about them is that the take the ubiquitous 18650 lithium ion battery. There are multiple vendors from which you can order better batteries and a charger if you are so inclined. That way you (a) always have charged batteries on hand and (b) you may already have stuff that uses that battery anyway. I’d previously sprung for the Panasonic 3450mAH batteries for my other devices and am astounded at the battery life when used with these lights. Definitely in the ‘multiple hours of bright light’ category.
The not so great thing, at least for me, is that they roll around unless you happen to be lighting up something where the light bar can be folded enough to keep it from rolling and it happens to shine were you need it in that configuration.
The magnet on the bottom of the light works well for attaching to a metal surface. To address the “I want it to stand it up on my wooden work bench:, I looked in the junk box for a galvanized electrical cover plate and problem solved. It happened to be a rectangular plate so the ‘rolling around’ was also solved for most use cases.
Now if I could just fine a 18650 head lamp that wasn’t bulky and make me look like a SciFi monster I’d be home free!!
