Over the years, me too Jeff...but the last two did it for me. Went to a local
battery rebuilder/ seller and got a 'blemished' Grp 36r - 650 cca
3 yr warranty... same as the neverstart from Walmart...….$66.00 including tax .
I asked him if he had seen this before with a "Wallybattery" and
he just laughed and said "Yea...probably three or four a month"
Made up a paste of baking soda and coated everything on that side of the
genset... lotsa of bubbling then rinsed it down and installed new
battery...
I'm good to go now

I've
used dozens of WalMart batteries with no problems. If I recall, there are a
very limited number of battery manufacturers in the US. Maybe 95% are made by
one of two companies.
