Oh, man... Why did you bring up the Tiger? Those are soooo cool. I almost
bought one back in '89. Never knew about the Tiger before, but I knew about
the Alpine. So when I seen it, I thought someone did a hack job and dropped
a V8 in one. It needed some restoration, but ran pretty good. The car sat
for sale for about 6 months, the seller said nobody, other than me, stopped
to take a look at it. He really didn't know what it was, it belonged to his
father-in-law that recently passed away. Well, I seen a write-up in R&T
about the Tiger a couple weeks later. DARN! That looks just like the car
for sale just down the road! Went back with money in hand to buy it, and it
was gone, he sold it the day before for $2000, he was asking $2500. I kick
myself about twice a month for not buying that car when I had the chance.

Another was a Dodge Dart GT with a numbers matching 340 Six-Pack. $500,
needed restoring. A '78 Triumph TR8 coupe with 5-speed (didn't know Triumph
produced 1500 TR8s that year), thought it was a TR7 that someone swapped a
V8 into, for $400 (most were automatics, less than 300 5-speeds were
produced). A GT-40 kit car for $750, needed interior and mechanicals. An
87 Dodge Shelby Charger GLHS for $750, missed it by a week, but I knew what
it was, just seen the ad too late. A '70 Mach 1 for $1000 back in '90,
needed paint and a rebuild of the 351C. Also, a '71 Mach 1, 351C, pristine
condition, one owner, for $3000 back in '84, but my Dad wouldn't let me buy
it (in retrospect, probably a good move, since I was 16 at the time). A GTO
Judge was also passed over, same deal as the '71 Mach 1, my Dad wouldn't let
me buy it, I was 14 at the time, but I had the money to buy it. I passed
getting an '88 Porsche 928S4, back in '96, needed a new front fascia and
hood, for $1500. An '88 MR2 Supercharged back in '89 (I wanted a NEW car
then, and the MR2 had 12k miles, it was the same price as the Z24, with 2
miles, I bought). An '89 RX7 GTUs, for $2000, back in '92 (man, I would
kill for one now, as the GTUs was a factory stripped race car).

There are more... but right now, I'm too depressed to even think about them
:-(
