Maybe you have the 'intermittent no power to the IRCM/PCM' syndrome.  How bright is
the CE light when it won't start?  Do you hear the fuel pump running?  Does the car
have aftermarket cheap battery terminals on the ends of the cables?  Do you have
spark?  You can check that with an inductive timing light.

It runs intermittently with this condition, and leaves no codes.
