Well, it's one of those "it depends".

I finally put a new battery in my '99 after 5.5 years and 99K miles because
I felt that I should (doing a weekly Chicago-Louisville commute), and not
because it was having a problem. OTOH, there have been folks in AZ that
don't get more than two years out of a battery.

You're doing real good to get past 24-30 months out of a standard battery.
My wife had one replaced on her car recently under warranty.  I almost would
rather have bought my favorite brand and paid $75 for it.
