[Shotimes] Lost MPG related to hard start?

I had the same situation. The filter was changed in mid '01 when the
previous owner had a new fuel pump installed. Maybe 10K later (earlier this
year) I had severe surging, and a new filter cured it. Only around 6K miles
later, just before the Convention, it started surging AGAIN, and a new
filter cured it.

Dunno, it almost seems like gas quality has been going to hell lately.

It only takes one tank of bad gas, or one time running the tank very low to
clog a fuel filter. This summer I had to change one after only being in 6
weeks and <2000 miles.
