[Shotimes] Replacing stereo head unit?

SHOtimers,

Random thoughts here...

What options are out there for changing the head unit that will still work 
with the auxiliary controls by the steering wheel? Do any other Ford OEM 
models go well into the Gen II SHO's, i.e. the Ford 6-disc in dash 
changers? I'd like to keep the stock look, please let me know any 
interesting setups, ideas, or experiences.

I'm also thinking of just putting a CD changer in the trunk, but having a 
seperate controller and the FM modulation is kind of ghetto IMHO, I did 
that in my '92 Taurus GL but would like to avoid it in the SHO if possible.

On the other hand this looks MP3 player looks neat too (albeit 
overpriced)... could modify the empty space to the left of the cigarette 
lighter to fit this, might look pretty clean if done properly:

As you can see I have no idea where I am going, just fed up with the 
double-din CD setup in the Gen II. The AM/FM/Tape head unit is nice, but 
the CD players are POS garbage IMO.
