There's nothing technically illegal about selling your assets, unless you
are under a court order not to do so.

Remember, when you sell a car, you are trading one asset (car) for another
(cash), so you aren't making any assets disappear.

Anyway, the guy (1) provided way too much information about his personal
situation, and (2) hurts his negotiating position by bringing up the "gotta
sell" aspect. Actually, this is a good point for any of you selling cars,
when you say "must sell" for whatever reason, you pretty much have insured
that you aren't getting top dollar!

I do agree with Dave, though.....it's still a Festiva. Yeah, the car should
"fly"....in a straight line, anyway. .. but now it has a lot of weight in
the rear, with a very light front end. I don't see it being a handling or
braking champ.
