[Shotimes] Mid-engine, SHOgun type Q's

He posted a lot of details about the car as he was building it, on
shoforum. He built it for the grassroots motorsports $2003 challenge.
He said he just took the rod shifter and turned it backwards, but took
the stick out and mounted it the way it would be if it was still in the
SHO, it bolts in symmetrically. Everyone on shoforum of course drooled
all over the car which is probably why he has it up on eBay for $5500, I
think his total expenses, minus his own labor, was only like $1800. If
anyone is interested and wants to do a search on the forum, his name was
Fastiva I think.

The guy fabricated his own tube frame in the rear with custom
suspension. He said something to the effect of "I've been making race
car suspensions for the past 20 years so he didn't expect too many
problems with his car"...It seemed to me that he at least addressed some
of the handling issues in some manner..

There's nothing technically illegal about selling your assets, unless
you are under a court order not to do so.

Remember, when you sell a car, you are trading one asset (car) for
another (cash), so you aren't making any assets disappear.

Anyway, the guy (1) provided way too much information about his personal
situation, and (2) hurts his negotiating position by bringing up the
"gotta sell" aspect. Actually, this is a good point for any of you
selling cars, when you say "must sell" for whatever reason, you pretty
much have insured that you aren't getting top dollar!

I do agree with Dave, though.....it's still a Festiva. Yeah, the car
should "fly"....in a straight line, anyway. .. but now it has a lot of
weight in the rear, with a very light front end. I don't see it being a
handling or braking champ.
