[Shotimes] Strange noise...help!

Hey all,

         I am posting for a friend who just recently bought a sho and isnt 
having very good luck with it.  Its a 95 atx with 67k on it, he just replaced 
the water pump and thermostat and had the tranny fluid changed.  The car was 
bought in Fl and then driven back here to northeast pa.  Stopped and idling 
the oil light will flicker....after about 5-10 min of driving it will start 
making a weird sound from the top end.  Its not a knock or a tick, it almost 
sounds like a plastic sound and gets faster and more obscene when you rev the 
engine.....could it be a loose or broken shim?....rod 
bearing?....valve?.....the engine has no loss of power just sounds really 
bad....any ideas?
