I believe 500ci is correct for the NHRA nitro cars, as well as pro stock
(which isn't remotely related) - the alky cars IIRC have varying
displacements for motor style (Arias/Rodeck Chevy, Keith Black/Pisano Hemi,
etc...) and weight, etc... The nitro cars also can't run the PSI style
superchargers, and are limited to a 3.20 rear gear and a certain Good Year
slick in an effort to limit top speeds. They used to run like 2.70 gears I
think; now they just run higher RPM's and get the same top ends as before.

Again, IIRC. :)

I "think" the ci rules are just for the alky cars:
http://www.nhra.com/aboutnhr/classes.htm

Apparently the NHRA Rulebook doesn't appear anywhere online, you can only
get a copy when you become a member......which seems kind of silly if
someone is seriously contemplating building a car for a class, and hasn't
decided on IHRA, NHRA, etc, and wants to see the rules in advance.

Which brings up another point ... to run in Top Fuel/Funny Car you MUST run
a Hemi, no matter what the 'sticker' says on the front of the so called
'car', it has a Hemi (but I thought that it was limited to 500 cid)
