Cancel the order, then call back later and order tires for a car that
has 225/50/16s.
There are better "cheap" tires than the 712s, although living where the
temps stay warm eliminate some of the issues. They are heavy SOBs,
though.

Subject: [Shotimes] Tire load rating
I buying some tires off of TireRack. For now I'm going to go "cheap"
and get the Kumho "x ta" Supra 712. However I got a call from them
after I placed my order that they cannot sell me the 225/50/16 WR or VR
tire due to the tire load rating being 1389lbs. They said they cannot
sell that tire per Ford for the Taurus (very nervous I guess from the
Explorer deal). I have to go with the 225/55/16 which has a load
rating of ~1521lbs. Ford spec is 1520lbs or higher...
