I don't know about their compressors, but I've never liked the Campbell
Hausfield tools. The ft/lb specs on their tools seem to be awfully high for
what they really are, I bought a impact wrench that was supposed to put out
around 200ft/lbs backing, and it seemed like it only ran at 100ft/lbs. It
felt REALLY weak for what it was supposed to be. Not only that, but a
friend of mine had to throw away all his CH tools because the innards
started working their way loose. He replaced them all with Ingersol Rand
tools, which cost a bit more, but you can tell the workmanship and quality
in them are MUCH better than CH tools. Now maybe the compressors are a
whole lot better, but I know the tools pretty much suck.
And yes, Craftsman air tools & compressors are over priced. In retrospect I
really wish I had bought an upright IR compressor and tank.
