Yeah, checking the shiftlinkage under the car should be the first place to
look, although the rod shifters have less trouble with this than the cables.
When you get it into gear, do you have a lot of side to side movement in the
shifter? I had this on my previous SHO, and from what I could detect, it
was just the whole shifter assembly getting loose, but this was a cable
shifter. It wasn't the tranny because it was put into another SHO and the
shifter was nice and tight in it.
