I've been in both places. I've done some dynamite
home paint jobs, but they are difficult to get dirt
and bug free without a pro paint booth. My 95 MTX is
ready for a complete paint job. For me the best of
both worlds, saving a few bucks and getting a pro job,
is to totally strip the body of bumpers all trim and
molding and all lights. I plan to replace all window
seals as they are UV damaged beyond repair.
[Florida Sun] Negociate a deal with the
best painter in town, and flatbed your naked SHO to
the paint shop, with all paintable parts in the car.
Ziplock and label all bolts and screws.
Have the stripped body and assorted other paintable
parts painted. Flatbed the finished car back home
and reassemble yourself, saving big dollars.
