It is possible that the oil pan seal on that side is the source of your leak.
I had a front side leak prior to doing my 60k and I too suspected my front
seal. In my case it was the oil pan leaking. There are gaskets on each end of
the pan [ E9DZ-6723A and E9DZ-6722A, seal oil, ~$11 each]and RTV is used to
seal the rest. The y-pipe needs to be removed to remove the pan.
And.........as long as you've got it out, throw that OEM y-pipe away, it's
poorly designed!!!! Adding a Performance Plus pipe was one of the best things
I've done to my engine.
Welcome! Pick up a Helm manual, http://www.helminc.com/, a good set of tools
and ask questions. You can do it yourself ! You said you're meticulious, I
promise you the dealer mechanics are not! I don't know where Colunbus is but
if it's near Indy you're about 6 hours from Peformance Plus in Madison, WI.
One of a handful of shops dedicated to the SHO.
Good luck! Bob 93 MTX
