Culled this from SHO forum today.

I drove out to a cycle shop to get some valve shims and they basically told me
that the shims I had were never ever used on a bike that they serviced. The
shop is a Yamaha and Kawasaki dealership and I found a site for cycle shims
that say they use 29mm shims. sho shims are 29mm. It took 3 of them to make me
leave but I accepted that I might be wrong because I don't know bikes. Well
according to http://www.cyclewareables.com/pages/valve%20shims/valveshims.htm
and

So... should I go back to that bake shop and get some shims? What a bunch of
idiots at that shop. One was even familiar with the sho engine and laughed
about how I wouldn't be able to find any shims. Am I mistaken or are is it
that hard to believe you're putting motorcycle parts in a car?
