Took my car down to the local mechanic today to diagnose the knocking,
to ensure it was indeed something motor related... Mechanic says I have
a rod about ready to let go...

So, I guess its motor time.  I've submitted a request on Al's web site,
as well as poked around my area... No real impressive deals.

What should I expect to pay to have a motor swapped out?  Is it something
I can do without too much difficulty if I can secure an engine hoist and
some shop space?
