I'm biased towards the A40 because I own one but you should try to find
a store with both in stock and ask to be able to try each of them out.
I'm not a big fan of Kodak's menu system and their plastics have a
strange look to them but that's just my opinion.

Subject: [Shotimes] Digital Camera; Which one of two should I choose?
Hey all,
I appreciate the good number of replies I received in regarding to my
previous e-mail about myself being a digital camera idiot.
I have looked at both the Canon Powershot A40 (2 megapixtels with 3x
opitical/2.5x digital zoom), and the Kodak DX-4330 (3.1 megapixtels with
some
good number higher than 3x opitical/2.5x digital zoom - 10x total zoom,
I
believe, but not sure how many for what type of zoom).
The Powershot A40 can be had for $298 from www.BuyDig.com with 64mb
memorycard, and the DX-4330 is at $323 from the same place with the same
size
memorycard.
The Canon looks to be of a complicated camera with a lot of features,
while
the Kodak seems to be a little bit user-friendly ableit I don't know
about
its spectrum of features. The Canon A40 is about a megapixtel less
numberically than the Kodak that I looked at, yet they both are priced
closely at the website stated above. The Kodak also has a LCD that is a
bit
bigger than the Canon's.
I'd like to go with the camera with most features, since I believe I
will
pick up with time on what features are for what. I would not want to
look
back and say, 'Opps, I wish I have of had went with that other one
instead'.
I am a young gentleman who is trying to get through my college years on
a
typical 'college' budget.
I know I will stay less than the $323 that www.BuyDig.com is asking for the
DX-4330, yet I need help on deciding which one of two cameras would be
the
better choice. Or maybe even better, what other brands/models I should
look
at also, before I come to the final decision. Ah, the powers of
decision-making; Decisions, Decisions, and some more Decisions to be
made..
Help me out some more, please, and THANK YOU all for the wonderful help
up to
now on the subject of digital photography.
Regards, Norm (can't wait to shoot digitalically if that's even a word,
lol)
