[Shotimes] Clutch Issues

Sounds like something is definitely up, most likely your TOB eating into the
PP fingers. It's the most common failure with our cars. Any weird noises?

When you say taking off is hard to do, is it just the pedal engagement, or
does the clutch vibrate at low RPMs (known as chatter)?

I broke something on mine, and just did the clutch last spring! I either
glazed the disc, broke one of the torque straps on the PP, or the Grizzly
TOB isn't all that tough. It'll slip in any gear if I give it too much gas.
I'm just going to baby it as long as I can.

Yeah, the TOB could be eating up the fingers on the PP, but this is what
happened on my last clutch - it wore out the fingers so bad a couple broke
and trying to shift was a joke! If I pulled it out of gear at a stop, I'd
have to turn it off, put it into gear, and then start it back up!!! This
might be early signs of this happening again, but it still slides right into
gear, even at a stop, and the "reverse check" works great still.

The clutch doesn't chatter at all - it's mainly just the clutch engagement.
Even when it slips and gets overheated I don't have any vibration issues.

It could also be the TOB binding up on the input shaft as Don suggested -
this sounds VERY probable. Next time I do the clutch, I think I'll take his
advice and replace the shift fork and bushings. Unfortunately being
unemployed right now means no money, so I'll just keep my fingers crossed it
holds up until I get a job...

That sucks something already broke on your clutch! That's why I like taking
it to this place that has a lifetime warranty on parts and a 20K warranty on
labor. I could easily do the work myself, but if something does fail, it's
nice to make them do it again rather than me! : )

THANKS!
