Actually you can't even say that. I've seen just as many SLO's with the
higher rate springs than I have the low rate. Just about every 3.8 Litre
equiped car has the higher rate springs as well as most of the Taurus LX and
other high line packages. I'm not sure where the original confusion of the
5spd SHO's getting the High rate's and everything else getting the alleged
"SLO" springs came from. My '93 and '94 SHO's both came with the high
spring rates on them. EMT and JIT springs. My Girlfriend was the previous
owner to two SLO's. Guess what, they both also had the Higher rate springs.
Yes, the SHO's struts were valves stiffer than the SLO's and they did put
some Factory Poly or TPR bushings in the SHO from the factory. But you
can't say the SHO's had specific springs.
