For best out of the box performance go with one of the
pro-flos. If you intend to go way down the modification
path (ie cams, blowers, etc) most guys going this route
have the Ford 80mm. Shoshop and Ted breaux go with
the Ford 80mm. I agree with Justin, the Ford 80mm may
require more tinkering... my own experience with it is it
worked well on my 89, two different 90s and my 94 mtx.
(each car had its own 80mm, not the same unit tried on each
car)
I could not get the ford 80 and lpm to work correctly on
my 91+ (part throttle pinging problems)
of course that motor was neglected by the previous
owner. FWIW

or so to get it recalibrated by Pro-Flo (along with before and after
graphs), after numerous attempts at solving my ping problem by redoing my
LPM. My X2J PCM is much happier minus the LPM. The fuel maps and spark curve
are a complete shot in the dark, unless you can tune it on a dyno with a
wide band O2. YMMV, as always...

with a 77mm that is quicker than my 80mm SHO:D Some people claim to have
problems with the FORD unit, but mine has been trouble free from day one and
only cost $50. Not bad.
