    Not sure I'm an "expert", but I just mentioned that due to a possible
future big hassle of selling it to somebody, them having problems, etc.  If
I go through one, then I know it's a good unit.

IMHO if you are installing it yourself (a used one), then you have the
mechanical ability to go through it, slap in some new seals and new blocking
rings. (and at least check the pinion shafts and locating pins in the diff).
The rings and seals aren't very much, and for minimal investment, you KNOW
you got a good tranny.

Good MTX cores are getting hard to find. (alone anyway) although gen1 parts
cars seem to be a dime a dozen these days.  Noticed the other day every Tom
Dick and Harry selling parts on ebay, I remember a few years back when you'd
be lucky to get 20 or 30 items returned under a "Taurus SHO" search on ebay
<g>  I got rid of most of my extra stuff last year, but hope to get rid of
the last few things laying around here soon...
