A guy here at work has one.  '85, '86 maybe.  Took it up to some guru in
Michigan for some work.  Had the heads ported, new cam, bigger carb.
I'm not sure of the numbers, but he's getting well over 200 hp now.  The
car is an automatic, but it's still pretty fast.  He's trying to decide what to
do with it.  He's limited on power now.  He thought of the Northstar
conversion, but I like the 4.3 conversion better.  Lots of go fast parts
out there for the mini-mouse now.  There's also front strut conversions.
He's very perplexed.  : )

For the life of me I can't remember the sites, but there are some nice instances of small block V8 Fieros running around.

I don't think they are the fastest things in the world, but I'm sure they have alot of "thats neat" factor.

And both of them are fake Fiat 1.9's, or fake Porsche 914, or ...

I think an interesting car would be a Fiero with the GM DOHC 3.4L engine.
Probably a near drop-in.
