Had a friend with a '70 454 Chevelle with roller cams and every trick set up
for 1/4 mile. Every winter he would pull the motor and have it rebuilt.
The torque would twist the block, to get the decks refinished true one would
run uphill 10/1000 and the other deck run down hill 10/1000. 5-6 years and
nothing is square or perpendicular anymore in their block.
GM blocks are soft and move all over. Mopar blocks are hard and brittle with
a higher tin content. Don't know about Ford blocks.
Never had a Muncie, had a super T10 & a T10, I had an improvished childhood.
;-)
I miss the lead, high emissions and cheap gas .....
And you could measure Hp with seismometer, and adjust points with an allen
wrench, correct tire inflation by looking at a burn out patch.
Hell, girls though I was was cute, and they looked as good as they smelled.
;-) Now the same ladies are grand mothers.
Allas,
Tim
