I remember a local plumber who ordered a 1966 Impala with the 425hp 427.  
This was their top motor at the time- 11:1 compression, mechanical lifters, 
Holley carb, etc.  His wife didn't like driving it so he swapped engines with 
his pickup.  Of course he just slowly chugged around town in the pickup.

Ford had some interesting 427's and 429's at that time.  For some reason the 
428's weren't as interesting.  The cars that they put these engines in 
weren't as "cool" as some of the other brands though.
