[Shotimes] Acceleration problem

Lately when I have been stepping on the gas the tach has been moving rapidly 
up yet my speed does not change. Kinda of like reving it when you have the 
clutch in, but the clutch isn't in. It does it mostly in the higher gears 
though. As soon as I let off the gas the tach drops and the car surges 
forward and then it starts picking up normally again.  I just raced at the 
track last night and it wasn't doing it until after then. You guys know what 
it could be?
