I admit to that bias. I have only owned Gen 1 cars. I drove a 96. No stick, no dice .
I have seen plenty of Gen 2s and driven several. No particular feelings against, except
that they are more expensive, in most cases, since they are newer. If there was a
particularly strong reason to have a Gen 2, I'd probably find one for myself. But there
isn't, so I don't plan on it. There are mods, here and there that they need, to be
improved on, like in the suspension...sway bars and brakes. The drivetrains are more or
less the same. I can take or leave a rod shifter. There is that circuit with the
coolant bottle that can kill the engine. They are a bit harder to work on under the hood
because of that panel next to the firewall. The dash is reputed to be a bit less
securely mounted. I prefer a separate starter solenoid on the fender, rather than on
the starter. Etc., etc., etc.

It's the little things like these that could be overridden if there was some one thing
that was much better than the Gen 1s.....but there isn't, so I stick with what I know.

George and the Lowrider Gen 2s are welcome to visit in my driveway, but none will
probably live in it.
