It's the altitude.  You are at an average of 5000 feet.  Takes less power to move the car
through the relatively thin air...especially when the computer can adjust the mixture by
using the BAP sensor.   Same with airplanes.  A 747 can only go 1000 miles at 1000
feet....it can go 7500 miles at 40,000 feet.  A '94 Mustang GT got 29 mpg at 82 mph
across there every time I'd make the trip.

Lowrider can get 29 plus (with a/c) going 75 at sea level on a multi-hundred mile cruise-
controlled interstate trip.  It can get 32 plus at 5000 feet.

I though it had too much mileage to do that anymore, but it did it about a year ago,
coming from Seattle to San Francisco.
