ASP did redesign their crank pulley, but the this redesign not only
postponed the failure, but  made it less of a problem.

The original ASP crank pulley failed after 50k on the '93MTX and caused the
outter drive belt contact service to wobble, also making a loud belt squeak.
The newer design still failed, but only caused the outter pulley area to
spin around the inner area, but without any wobble.  Only a small amount of
rubber is there to provide a damping action on their new design.  On the
'95MTX, I still removed this set-up  whenn it failed after 100k,  because I
was afraid that it would have a castrophic failure when the inner part would
spin and the outer would just sit there stationary...
