The Gen2 seats have smaller side bolsters than the Gen1 seats.  I used to
think they were the same until I started driving both.  In a Gen1,  even
with the seat all the way back it's very difficult to slide into the seat
without rubbing against the outside bolster.  I think that's why Ford
changed them, as they were wearing out so quickly.

I have also noticed that there is more seat travel with the Gen2 seats.
With the seat all the way back, there is not as much legroom in the Gen1.
