You might also check the wires on the plug going to the brake light switch. Mine were worn through the insulation and I had to replace the connector and wires.

Subject: [Shotimes] Brake On/Off switch circuit keeps blowing fuse
Exactly what the title states. It works for maybe 30 minutes at a time
before
the fuse blows, I loose my brake lights, and am not able to switch the car
out
of park. Any clues on this? This is the first time I've run into this
problem.
