I've used a Mity-Vac to bleed brakes hundreds of times over the past
several years without any trouble whatsoever. It's fast, it's easy,
and it works perfectly.
I originally began using it to make bleeding brake a quick, one-man
operation, after having replaced a few too many master cylinders with
internally damaged seals due to pushing the pistons beyond their normal
range of travel into the accumulated crud/corrosion in the bore.
You need to use one of the pointed fittings <inside> the bleeder
screw, not over it or in place of it.
Of course there will be a tendency to suck in air from the bleeder
threads...that's why speed-bleeders have sealent on them.
Remove and clean the bleeder screw
Wrap it (threads only) 3-4 times tightly with teflon tape
Thread it back in almost all the way
Insert the pointed fitting/nipple and pump to 40-50psi
Tap caliper with a mallet while bleeding
Tighten the bleeder screw just before container is full and while
you're still drawing out fluid.
