I thought all Gen I/II Taurii were squeakers and rattlers?? My '87 GL and 
'92 GL shook, rattled, and rolled over every bump in the road, and my '93 
ATX SHO is worse than both of em put together! All those plastic door 
panels, with plastic fasteners... recipe for rattles I say. Add the sunroof 
and center console in an SHO, and forget about it!

To contrast, my '97 Taurus GL was as quiet as can be except for the front 
struts, and my recently purchased '96 T-bird LX is as solid as a rock.

A while back there was a discussion about cars having "soul" and 
"character".... all those squeaks and rattles just contribute to these 
qualities :) :)
